Nitrox SSI

The SSI Enriched Air Diver course is SSI's most popular specialty scuba course. Why?

Because scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression time, especially on repetitive scuba dives.

The fun part

The fun part of the Nitrox diving course lies in the new opportunities it offers. Diving with Nitrox, which has more oxygen and less nitrogen than regular air, allows for longer bottom times and less fatigue after dives. It also provides greater flexibility to perform multiple dives in a day with less surface interval. Additionally, it facilitates more relaxed exploration and observation by reducing the need to constantly monitor no-decompression limits. The course also adds a technical and educational aspect by teaching about gas mixing and the proper use of equipment.

Requirements:

- Submit a medical certificate or health declaration: https://www.diveparadis.com/en/Diver-Medical?i=en
- Present an explicit diving insurance: https://www.scubamedic.com/Particulares.php?ScubamedicID=10

What will you learn?:

You’ll learn why diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content gives you more bottom time, along with enriched air equipment considerations. During a practical session, and two optional (or required) scuba dives, you’ll:
  • Discuss managing oxygen exposure.
  • Practice analyzing oxygen content in your scuba tank.
Set your dive computer for diving with enriched air nitrox.
  • Enriched Air Diver course – ask your instructor to learn more.
